The Sultan Abdul Samad Building is a late-nineteenth century building located along Jalan Raja in front of the Dataran Merdeka and the Royal Selangor Club in Kuala Lumpur. This project is a façade lighting enhancement project by the State City Council, DBKL for National Day Celebration in year 2019. Due to its heritage, there were some restrictions on new cabling, mounting light fixtures and drilling new holes through the building. The design thought process had to be thorough.
The light scheme uses two different color temperatures to create a contrast between the façade and the corridor of the building. The arches and dome of this historical buildings were lighted with narrow beam floodlights to highlight its majestic architectural elements.
